Jake has served clients as a Fee-Only, Fiduciary advisor since 2011. Helping clients navigate into and throughout their financial independence is Jake’s primary advisory focus. Jake believes in listening first when addressing planning issues. By putting a particular issue or question into a personal context, Jake is able to provide valuable perspective and clarity for his clients.
Jake got his start as an investor in 1999 using savings from his first part-time job. His early experiences have helped to shape his approach to advising clients today, and has led Jake to prioritize client education. Jake is committed to making sure his clients have a comfortable understanding of their investments and their financial plan to help them remain disciplined in a world where the future is perpetually uncertain.
After coming to learn how Bay Point’s client first approach aligned with his own, Jake helped to begin the process in 2020 to merge his previous firm into Bay Point’s existing office in Asheville. Locally in Asheville, Jake’s commitment to education has also seen him in the classroom teaching at both Western Carolina University and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Jake and his wife Jennifer live just next to the Pisgah National Forest and when he is not in the office can often be found mountain biking or out for a walk in the woods. His true passion is playing with his two daughters and learning from them as they explore the world.
