Raised in inner-city Philadelphia, Keron lived in a community that was plagued by financial hardship. Most of the families in his neighborhood struggled financially and when the older individuals passed on, their children struggled – creating a generational chain. Once he became old enough to understand his family’s financial situation, he decided that he did not want to continue this trend. Not only did he want to generate a sizeable income, but he also wanted to sustain financial independence, teach, and transfer accumulated wealth to the next generation – thus sparking an interest in financial planning.
In 2016, Keron graduated with a Bachelors degree in Corporate Finance from Clarion University of Pennsylvania – and spent 2 years as an Analyst reporting and maximizing opportunities for big businesses. He later decided to pursue his passion and calling for assisting families and individuals who may have experienced similar struggles or who have goals aligned with creating, preserving, and distributing wealth. He returned to school and in 2020, he graduated with an MBA in Finance – with the Certified Financial Planner Board course listings from DeSales University in Allentown, PA.
While obtaining his MBA, Keron worked as an Associate Advisor for a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in Souderton, PA. His responsibilities consisted of preparing and supporting the lead advisor to engage with clients, creating their financial plans, and implementing action items that were consistent with their goals. At Bay Point, he serves as a Portfolio Administrator assisting with investment management and trading. The most fascinating aspect of his responsibilities is implementing a portfolio model to meet the client's goals and to remain intact should any shortcoming or obligation arise.
Outside of work, Keron is an active member in his community - providing financial literacy education to millennials and minorities. He is driven to help others understand the importance of financial planning and the basic steps that can be started today, that will furnish their future endeavors. In his downtime, he enjoys reading, listening to music, and playing basketball with friends and family members.
"I believe financial planning is a luxury meant for everyone. To get where you want to be, you must understand where you are today."
